ERA PerMed: Multidisciplinary research projects on personalized medicine

Through its fifth transnational call, ERA PerMed aims to foster research on prevention in personalized medicine.

Link to the call

Objectives

The overarching goal of the call is the development of tailor-made strategies for the prevention of disease and disease progression, at three different levels:

  • preventive measures decreasing the rate of incidence (primary prevention)
  • early detection to increase the efficacy of preventive therapy, even before symptoms are developed (secondary prevention)
  • interventions preventing disease recurrence or improving patients’ care and quality of life (tertiary prevention).

Research on prevention from over-treatment or over-medicalization in primary, secondary, and tertiary personalized preventive approaches is optional and could be part of research proposals, if applicable. The clinical relevance of the proposed PM approach needs to be convincingly demonstrated

Eligibility

The call is open for researchers with either university or hospital affiliations. Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve at least three partners from three participating countries. The maximum number of partners per proposal is six, but no more than 2 partners from the same country will be accepted in one project consortium. Refer to the call for a list of participating countries that are eligible for funding.
