HFSP Postdoctoral Fellowship in Life Sciences

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) offers fellowships for early career researchers, who would like to pursue their research in a new country. The research projects should be of ground-breaking nature and related to the life sciences.

Applicants with a background in other fields than biology are encouraged to apply.

Funding

HFSP funds postdoctoral fellowships for 3 years. Fellows are granted a living, a research and a travel allowance depending on the host country.

Eligibility

  • Researchers currently living outside of Norway are eligible to apply with a host at UiO.
  • Candidates must propose to work in a country different to the one in which they did their PhD research or previous post-doctoral research, even if they are not a national of that country. 
  • Applicants must have at least one lead author publication by the submission deadline of the Letter of Intent which can be a manuscript (1) published in a recognized OA preprint repository, or (2) accepted for publication, (3) in press or (4) already published by a peer reviewed journal

Two step application process

The application process will take place in two stages.

  • Deadline for letters of intent 14 May 2024. 
  • Deadline for full proposals: 26 September 2024.
