Setting a date
Setting a date for the trial lecture and disputation cannot be done before the committee’s report has been approved by the dean.
It is imperative that suggested dates should not have any bearing on the committee's assessment. If the committee should recommend that a candidate be permitted a minor revision of the thesis, the committee should not feel pressurised to approve the thesis because a date for the disputation has been set, ref. § 14.2 of the Regulations for the degree of PhD.
