Efficacy of root canal instrumenation and filling techniques (completed)

Comparative evaluation of three methods for application of root filling materials into prepared root canals by micro-computed. tomography

About the project

Incomplete filling of instrumented root canal space is an important source of (re-)infection causing periapical inflammation after root filling. The study compares three different methods of obturating the root canal space. Extracted teeth are scanned by micro-ct for construction of 3-d images before and after instrumentation and after filling with the 3 methods. The degree of obturation is measured by standard computer software.
