Aim of the project
Examine if there is a relationship between oral bacteria and genetic markers for inflammatory cytokines (IL-1 gene cluster, IL-6 and TNF) and periodontitis, atherosclerosis and aneurysm in Norwegians.

There is a clear relationship between periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases but the factors contributing to this relationship are not well known.
