Calcium Phosphate Materials For Regenerative Medicine and Other Applications
The lecture will include the research results and experience collected in Riga Technical University, Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre in last 15 years concerning synthesis of calcium phosphates using wet chemical precipitation method, upscaling of the technology, porous bulk and granular implant fabrication technologies, results of in vitro and in vivo investigations as well as clinical trials in maxilla facial and orthopaedic surgery. Additionally a brief overview will be given concerning the Ag substituted hydroxyapatite, calcium phosphate bone cements and drug delivery systems.
