Biomaterials granted EU funding

Department of Biomaterials will be participating in an EU-funded research project called "BLUETEETH" together with partners from Portugal and Iceland.

Department of Biomaterials has been granted 300 000 EUR as part of a collaborative research project "BLUETEETH" investigating novel solutions for guided tissue regeneration (GTR) for periodontal defects. The main aim of the project is to develop innovative multilayered GTR membranes from naturally occuring biopolymers processed from marine sources, such as algae and crustaceans.

At our department, the project will be coordinated by Professor Janne E Reseland, while the other participants in this joint EU project are Professor João F Mano from University of Aveiro, Professor Már Másson from University of Iceland, and an Icelandic marine biotech company Primex.
