Blueteeth
The annual H2020 ERA-NET Marine Biotech “BLUETEETH” project meeting took place at beautiful Madeira. The project is coordinator by João F. Mano and João Borges, COMPASS Group (University of Aveiro), where the other partners are Janne Reseland and Håvard Haugen (University of Oslo), Már Másson, (University of Iceland) and Dr. Hélène Lauzon, (Primex ehf). The consortium spent a day together discussing the latest development of the project. The talks on how to utilise marine derived biomaterials for improving health was much inspired by the closeness to the sea.

2nd International Workshop on Advanced Materials for Healthcare Applications
Right after the Blueteeth meeting, "The 2nd International Workshop on Advanced Materials for Healthcare Applications" took place where 13 European scientist where invited to present their research. Prof II Jonny Blaker and Håvard J Haugen on behalf of our department.
This international workshop gathered researchers from multidisciplinary domains on the use of advanced materials in distinct biomedical fields, including diagnosis/imaging, medical devices, nanomedicine, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, drug delivery or bioengineering applications.
The Blueteeth consortium found this event as an unique opportunity to learn from internationally renowned speakers and network with your peers, enjoying also the pleasant and amazing atmosphere of Funchal and Madeira.
