Last week, Arooj Munir, Enrique Oreja and Agnieszka Rogala had the privilege of participating in the highly anticipated 7th annual conference hosted by the Center of Digital Life Norway (DLN). The conference, which was held at the stunning Solstrand Hotel & Bad near Bergen, offered an enriching experience filled with knowledge-sharing, insightful discussions, and picturesque views of Norway's natural beauty. The conference had several different workshops, such as "Innovation – more than commercialisation?"which explored the broader impact of biotechnology beyond commercialization. Panelists delved into the role of government authorities, civil society organizations, and environmental advocates in shaping the future of biotechnology. Also, the future of research funding was touched upon were key stakeholders led the future of research funding in Norway in the field. This session provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of research funding.

“It was a delightful experience. We were gifted with splendid weather and had the chance to take a refreshing dip in the fjord. The conference offered a variety of talks on different subjects, including effective communication strategies, the transition from an academic to an industrial setting, and the future of research funding, among others. The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas with other Ph.D. and Postdoctoral students from Norway.” Says Enrique Oreja.
