We proudly announce that one of our researchers, Badra Hussain, delivered an oral interactive talk at the 2023 IADR (International Association for Dental Research) General Session & Exhibition with the World Congress on Preventive Dentistry (WCPD). The high-profile dental conference occurred in Bogotá, Colombia, from June 21st-24th.
Ms. Hussain, who has distinguished herself through her research in dental science, presented on the topic of "Chemical decontamination strategies for treatment of peri-implantitis." Her talk fell under the session title: Periodontal Research-Therapy IV - Mucogingival and Peri-Implant Treatments, which was held on June 22. Ms. Hussain was one of very few from Northern Europe presenting at the IADR conference.
The IADR General Session, in partnership with the Latin American Region (LAR) and WCPD, is an international platform that brings together researchers and professionals from around the globe to share their innovative work and forge new collaborations. In this year's 101st General Session and 9th meeting of the LAR, the event also incorporated the 12th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry, further expanding its scope and appeal.
Ms. Hussain's presentation was an exciting opportunity to showcase the innovative research currently underway at our Department, reaffirming our place at the forefront of dental research and practice. The talk's focus on peri-implantitis, a condition where inflammation occurs around a dental implant, has been a significant point of interest in the dental research community due to its growing prevalence and implications for oral health.
We congratulate Ms. Hussain for her successful presentation and for bringing this significant attention to our institution's research endeavours. Her dedication and contributions to the field of dental science are a testament to our faculty's commitment to excellence in dental research and innovation. As we celebrate this achievement, we also eagerly anticipate more ground-breaking discoveries and global engagement from our dedicated team of researchers.
