Meeting our Scandinavian peers

Our department was well-represented at the annual meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials held in Denmark.

Department of Biomaterials send out a task force consisting of four scientist to represent our lab at the ScSB2024 conference in Denmark. Most happy of our participants was our PhD student Enrique Oreja, who had the opportunity to give his first scientific oral presentation on his research focusing on protein adsorption onto functionalised titanium implant surfaces. As if that was not enough excitement for Enrique, he was also elected as the new student representative on ScSB board led by Hanna Tiainen as the president of the society. But not all went Enrique's way in Helsingør: he was unable to defend our pride in the late night UiO vs NTNU table tennis tournament...

Probal Basu, our Marie Curie postdoc fellow, had his first chance to interact with the Nordic biomaterials community. Together with Daria Zaytseva-Zotova, he showcased the research we do at the lab in form of poster presentation and contributed to the exciting scientific programme of the conference.
