Endodontics

Endodontics involves the prevention and treatment of the disease apical periodontitis.

In practice this means diagnostics and therapeutic treatment of pulpal and periapical diseases and the pain conditions that originate in the teeth and jaw. Anatomical, physiological, microbiological and pathological characteristics in pulpa and the apical periodontitium that have significance for the clinical manifestations are vital components of the discipline

Treatment is based on the biological principles of aseptics, antiseptics and the body’s ability to regenerate.
