Daria S. Zaytseva-Zotova currently works as a postdoctoral fellow in a project “Multifunctional tannic acid nanocoatings for bone-anchored implants with reduced infection risk” lead by Prof. Hanna Tiainen.
Daria is a biotechnologist and has a solid background in 3D cell culture systems and biomaterials. She previously was a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Professor Berit L. Strand at NTNU, working in The Digital Life project “3DLife: Emulating life in digital and experimental tissue models”. In 3DLife project her primary focus was on chemical functionalization of alginates, characterization of physico-mechanical and viscoelastic properties of the hydrogels based on the biofunctionalized alginates and alginate-based 3D culture models. Daria previously held positions at Drugs Technology LTD, Russia and Moscow branch of BIND Therapeutics Inc. – two biotech companies focused on developing drug delivery systems. Daria received her PhD in Biotechnology from the Institute of Bioorganic chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, where she worked under supervision of prof. Elena Markvicheva at the Polymers for Biology Laboratory. She received her Specialist degree in Biotechnology Engineering from Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia.
