Local working environment committee (LAMU)

LAMU stands for local working environment committee. The local working environment committee shall work to promote a health-creating working environment for all employees.

LAMU at IOB
History
Until 2010, the department had its own LAMU. In 2010, LAMU-IOB was incorporated into an expanded LAMU at the faculty. During the years (from 2015 to 2018), experiences necessitated that IOB needed to establish its own LAMU that can accommodate the activities at department. This is because at IOB there are both teaching and extensive research activities with many laboratories. It was not practical for the department to take care of the HSE responsibility at the laboratories through the OD-LAMU. Therefor on 5th of April 2018, the OD-LAMU approved the establishment of LAMU at IOB.

LAMU at the faculty level will continue to be the reporting body for both departments' HSE work and an important arena for the leadership and the protection unit to discuss important issues. It is still LAMU at faculty level that is responsible for preparing the annual report and action plans for the Faculty of Dentistry.

Composition IOB LAMU
IOB-LAMU is currently composed of the employee representatives, Anne Karin Kristoffersen (safety representative at IOB) and elected LAMU representative, Thomas Küntziger; and the employer representatives, Trond Sundby Halstensen (acting head of institute) and Pernille Karlsen (administrative head). Emnet Abesha-Belay is IOB's HSE coordinator and will act as IOB-LAMU's secretary.
