Lecturer and Assistant Professor Gernot Walko: “Getting under the skin of epidermal tissue homeostasis, repair and cancer”.
Dr. Walko is a molecular biologist, Doctor rerum naturalium from the University of Vienna. His research interest is in epidermal stem cell development with the aim of understanding the normal process of tissue homeostasis as a foundation to understand how these processes go awry in skin diseases, including chronic wound-healing, hyper-inflammatory disorders and cancers. He is presently attached to the University of Bath.
